Re: Wave Board or Ripstick? or Streetboard?
Just wanted to jump in and give my thoughts. While both boards are equally fun you are extremely limited in many areas with both boards.
Low top speed No Options for different boards Wheels wear our fast No Tricks Then you have the sport of streetboarding which has an amazing amount of tricks, you have options on graphics and an amazing amount of trick options. Search youtube for streetboarding videos so you can see what I am talking about. Also, you can get some information at streetboarding|dot|com Can someone tell me if this site is still live? I would like to place some banner ad's (saw the request for donations) to keep this site alive and think I can help a bit. Some of the links aren't working on the forum so I suspect I know the answer.... |

hey ive had a ripstick for only 3 days and althou i have no reason for comparison as i have never rode a wave board i find that the ripstick is easy o learn once u find balance and the streetsurfing is smooth and fun as hell. also dont listen to reviews saying that one has better trick abilities, everhyoen i read says the exact oposite of another, so i vote for ripstick
Ps: to the person above once on a hill these boards can go fast! and also on a ripstick u can ollie, nollie, kickflip, nollie kickflip, sex change, acid drop, kickflip, manuel, mnose manuel, sex change, 180 and 360 spins and many more and even grinding Last edited by ripstick ryder : 12-26-2007 at 09:20 PM. Re: Wave Board or Ripstick?
you people are dumb......the wave board is way better because the lips on the front and back side are bigger therefore you can do more tricks and control it better.............i started riding a ripstick at my friends house because he got one and i went to walmart to get me one and they had a wave and a ripstick and i thought they were the same thing but when i took my wave out of the package it was different but it rides better than a ripstick

Re: Wave Board or Ripstick?
I HAVE BOTH.. i think the ripstiks better because. More durable ( wave board broke in half). smoother.looks cooler and sleeker. not as clunky. manuals great and olllie allthough i think the wave board was a lil easyer to ollie but whatever... RipStik for the win!

Re: Wave Board or Ripstick?
I choose waveboard. The waveboard is more comfortable than that of the Ripstick.

Re: Wave Board or Ripstick?
Waves suck so bad i had one and got like no progress! I got a ripstick and i can do all types of tricks like kickflips, 360 pick-ups, curve hops and everything.

Definatly lol the wave BC the ripstick is the Generic version and has a deck that is the same level all the way across which makes it harder to stay on. The waves deck is curved and dips just a bit in the mid so it huggs ur feet. The wave is pretty smooth though.

Re: Wave Board or Ripstick?
Ripstik is better than the Waveboard. Wheels last longer (Polyeruathane) saving you money. Its not as loud as the Waveboard. Etc. Only thing I know is that Waveboard can Rip better. I recommend Ripstik. There's another type called a Free/Three(?) Board. Ripstik/Waveboard is Surfing/Snowboarding.Free Board is just Snowboarding. I just brought this up because so much people have the Ripstik/Waveboard and they might be sold out so you might want to get that as an alternative. Also Although you may believe the Waveboard is the original, in actuality it was just the first brand sold in the US. The original inventor of this type of two-wheeled skateboard was invented by a Korean man who sold it in Korea by another name. Then two Americans said they would make it and pay the inventor, if they could have the rights to the board. But the guys only paid the inventor 10 percent of what the deal actually said, so the inventor took the idea to the Razor scooter company where they named the board the Ripstik. So you decide whether to support the original inventor or not. Also I have a Ripstik and it is the best in the world. Watch out for really steep hills, but other than that I would say it is my best friend
