Legalizing Marijuana

Being a rebel's not so cool if you land in jail, lose your job, house, everything you worked for. Also having to mix friendship with business, and sometimes pretending to be friends with people you don't necessarily car for is not cool.

Give me the "un-rebel" coolness of having a legal supply from someone who is licensed and therefore to some extent accountable, as I'm just not "rebel" enough to want to risk some asshole lacing my weed with crack or something, which has been done, not to me personally, but I've heard of it being done.

And in these days of manic Christianity, there will always be people who will disapprove of weed, so you will ever run out of people to be a rebel to.

Besides, maybe it's because I"m in my 40's but I am not doing this to impress anyone. Most people don't even know I smoke the stuff.

Hmmm I'm not a stoner myself but I would say legalize Marijuana and tax it just like the stuff we buy. This would be very good for the economy indeed.

Legalizing it could only make it better. NOthing like feeling paranoid to kill a good buzz. For me it's not so much about the "rebel" factor though I do like the image, but it's about enjoying God's gift and using it to enhance my consciousness.

Nah, unlike alcohol, weed is self-limiting. You can only get so high, after that you smoke yourself straight. You cannot die from an overdose unlike with alcohol. You can not die from withdrawal, unlike with alcohol. And check it out, if pot truly impaired people's driving, the media would be all over it like flies on a cowpile, as society is jonesing for reasons to make pot seem dangerous.

Your theory is exactly what the DEA people would like everyone to believe, that if pot were legalized it would open the floodgates for drug abuse, that people would be runnign in the streets raving stark naked. If pot were legalized the government would lose a lot of control over people and for some reason there is a huge fear about that.
