hi im new here and i tend to drag my messages so i'll keep this as short as i can.
it's the damned holidays now, my friend Jasmine invited me to a monster skateboarding lessons thing that goes for 4 days. the first day, (yesterday) was cool despite the fact that a girl kept whinnying how much she hates skating and she sucked coz she kept babbling and didn't listen, don't know why she was even there and she lived in bathurst! today, the lesson went so quick i couldn't pick anything up, the instructor (was so impatient and grumpy today, u shudve seen him wen there was a bad accident..) got a helper, and there were different people, more boys that were prob 4-6 years younger than me and jas. i invited this other friend, emma and she's been skating since doesn't really do much but she's good and jasmine is like a pro snowboarder so skateboardin was sinch for her which left me alone with the lower 'baby' group. we were to drop from the smallest ramp which was upto my waist (and alittle higher) and skate down to the other ramp and turn back (i have no idea for any terms, my bad). i have a fear of heights and i sucked, i kept freaking out so badly and stacking it on my butt-it hurt. Matt the helper hadto grip my hand so tight so i knew that i wud b ok but i think i can actually just ride down that stupid ramp easily but the monster skate place is pretty big i guess and it was raining so it was all crammed but it's always crammed. i think that's my problem, space and heights...now i don't know the point of this thread hahhaa... jst dropping to say hi then i guess =] mebe i jst shudnt skate, i never complete things i started and i gt scared pretty easily. but i love the idea of skateboarding, i can simply roll and tic tac but thats it...bah srry, it's so long...so hows everyone goin lol. |

yo! you need to get over your fears. pain is just a feeling. if you fall, its either b.c ur not paying attention, so u learn ur lesson, or ur trying and u just mest up, so get back up and try it again. now granted a 10 ft q pipe mite b a bit scary but just ask urself if its worth it or not.

Actually, pain really isn't your friend unless your apendix is about to burst. Things like good judgement, hard work and your friends are your friends. Pain just sucks. I just like the quote. Find something you can get excited about, like playing drums or something else that really annoys your parents g(iggle)ol, but seroiusly, keep up the story telling! you have a talent for it.

Re: wuss =]
I would consider what happened at the skate park more of an experience than a problem, which is why it made such a good story. I didn't realize you were female until your last post (funny suprize). The best way to improve your singing and guitar playing is to start a band. Then you'll have a real reason to play. I play drums in a band called Jamie Bidwell. There's a long story behind the name but I wont go there. It's a very part time gig and the real reason I do it is just to hang out with my buds. I'd send you a track but I'm not sure how and, frankly, I'm not that good a drummer. The cool part is I can't get fired.

yeah im a girl...my bad for not saying anything lol. every time i go to the monster skatepark there's always just one girl, and she's damn good, but she doesn't show off or anything, she's jst chilling and doesn't talkto people unless they talkto her, wish i was like that. if i search ur band up, will anything come up? u haveto tell me the long story behind that band name =] well you're a drummer - thats hot, it's good you're having fun. i have school tomora....so yeah, i'll jst close this. bb xxx. yuki

Re: wuss =]
I don't think there are any of our songs on the web. Actually I started these forums to promote my new motoxboard design and maybe get some feedback. Here's a short background of myself. I'm a 47 y.o. divorced grandpa who's a kind of an inventor geek type that works in a factory as a mechanic. I started playing guitar at 19 and the whole music thing never faded 'cause the dudes I jam with never stopped calling and now we're good friends. The singer, guitarist and bass player are all very talented and I consider it an honor to jam with these guys. The band woes you're going thru are very typical and it's just part of developing as a musician. The band name came about 'cause I was playing keys in another band called Liquid Chicken. It was almost impossible to get everyone together and I was interested in drumming so the singer and guitar player, who became the bass player, and myself started a new band. Well, Liquid Chicken, would book a gig here and there and Jamie bidwell, at that time unnamed, would show up with most of the equipment that belonged to Paul, the guitar player for Jamie Bidwell(at that time unnamed). Because we were using mostly Paul's equipment and headlining as Liquid Chicken, Paul said he felt like a roadie for Liqued Chicken and so arranged a meeting to decide on a name of our new band. It happened like this. Each of us wrote five suggestions on a piece of paper. We then handed the paper to another member who would cross off one name, then pass it on for the next person to cross one off, ect.. That left one name per sheet. Then all of the sheets went into a hat and which ever was pulled would be the band's name. And that's the long story.

Re: wuss =]
wat do ur grandkids think about u? i'd b freakin proud hahaa. Liquid Chicken sounded good enuf lol, that's a good idea, might do that name choosing thing soon.
it's awesome that u've been staying musical since ages, that's special, music is. the story wasn't as long as i was expecting, i was thinking probably some nerd's nickname and a skill combined or something. i don't know how to send music files over in the internet, maybe by email it cud b possible or msn. so then what else do u do these days? you have great band members =] thanks for your story (you're a good story-teller lol), i'll keep my faith in the band. thank you so much =]

Re: wuss =]
Yah, Your band's gotta have a name! Don't trip too hard on the one you pick. You can always change it. I think Liquid Chicken is a good name, but it's taken, hah.
My grandaughter Kayla is one and 1/2 years old and lives in Alaska 'cause my daughters' husband is in the Army and is stationed there(woes). Thanks for the thums up. Lately, besides working, I'm looking to get some shop space to produce more boards (you can google "motoxboard" to check it out, there's a goofy pix of me on the contact page). I sent an e-mail to a company that produces the TV show, X-Corps and they want to do a story! That's keeping me busy with gathering parts, materials, machines, and piles of paperwork, ect...I think I need a file cabinet... Anyway, good talkin', I gotta get ready for work. I work nights (boo). Re: wuss =]
I guess he's got his own riders for the board. I hope it's not an interview! I look stupid on camera.
Got the shop space today. The landlord was really cool and mentioned his company might be interested in investing in the board! But now I'm broke. We'll move in tomorrow. I had to get a year lease (panic). You're an Auzzy! That must mean you talk funny c(huckle)ol. People from California think everybody else talks funny (like, tubeular, sp?). I'd like to explore that market. I here there's alot of dirt trails there. I'd be interested in what some of your skater buds (mates?) think of the board. No worries (sorry, I couldn't help it) Eric |

Re: wuss =]
no roos or crocks for pets? what about wallabys or wombats?........The people who respond best to the baord have mostly been motor heads. snow and skate boarders have been less enthusiastic. A few have seen the light. It's confusing to me, yet makes sense...What kind of guitar do you have?
You probably want to find an amp with a tone that compliments the guitar you own. always test the amp with your own guitar. Also weight is a big factor. your gonna be lugging this monster around so you want one compact enough to carry. it only needs to be loud enough to keep up with drums. if your going used, test all the knobs(if they're all there) and listen for crackels or dead spots. Try not to go too old, (unless, maybe, its a marshall) and inspect the speaker for holes, or rattles while you play. and don't buy the first amp you try! and another thing...... Thanks for the positive words! money's ok, still workin for tha man, ya know..... Hopefully soon the board will be sold thru internet sites like a2xtreme. We're just now starting productions so it'll be a few months. Its pretty exciting. sort of like the first time I drummed with a bass player.... Eric |

ive told my friends about ur motor, they shud b checking it out now or soon coz we're still planning something for Monday, (whispers: we're jigging...!!) rofl. i think skaties wud wanna stick to their wood on wheels and snowboarders prob jst love the snow. mebe if it was available for a tryout then i'd love to throw in some cash but to buy it and never use it again? i wudnt really bother, i guess. i have a shat guitar coz it's my first and my mom used all my pocket money, thats the person she is. the brand is "Silvertone" it sounds cheap itself. i need the second smallest amp, coz it looks cute and i cud stick sponser stickers on it but i guess sound is important ya. i think we can wait a few months :P lol comparing it to the first timeu played with ur drummer? awesome! are there going to be different colours for your models, or different inventions where each can do different stuff. or mebe just stick to one =] it'll b cool if u went on the tv show "inventions" i think it was called, it airs occasinally in Australia where local people just make inventions that make life alittle more easier or fun for people and u can make a business out of it. interesting.....lol

Re: wuss =]
Actually, I don't even know what a wombat is. Do they have wings? Good luck on the amp. Sorry if I got too preachy. I remember dumping money into amps that looked cool but turned out to sound like crap. Do you have an income?
What's jigging? does it involve frogs? Hope it went well. Maybe I could try a rental type thing for the board so people can see if they like it. I got on one invention show. It was really a segment for a local variety show. It appeared that they liked it ok, I guess. We need more exposure, though. Eric |

yeah dude, np, I'll help u with more publicity but idk how...more advertising I guess. yeah I'll advertise online for u =]
there's this site called gumtree.com and it's pretty cool so i'll od one there. and prob hop into a sport shop and ask whether they could help sponser you or something idk. wombats are like furry hippos.....but miniature hahaa, idk, only seen one in the zoo coz they always gt run over on the highway so they were removed or something. seen kangaroos but. they can gt aggressive and start a boxing fight with u, they always win, and it bloody hurts. my friend got kicked in the chest by one, when we were at camp in the bush, they're also called 'big feet' coz they do have big feet and yeah, it's not nice. they kick hard. i put in a picture of them. pretty weird-looking creatures i rekon but they live underground tehe.

Re: wuss =]
Thanks for the info on the Wombat. The pictures were cool. I guess I wouldn't want to mess with a roo. I bet you could teach one to do a mean kick flip! The only thing we have here that's similar to a wombat would be like a possom. They're skinnier and have a rat-like tail (I guess not as cute).
That's so cool you want to help promote the board! I checked out gumtree. I think it could be useful. Now I can tell people I have a contact in Sidney, ha. I'll keep you updated. Eric |
